I think you can find really nice furniture at WalMart, JC Penny, IKEA and Babies R Us. You need to find a set that you like and feel will be sturdy enough for the baby to have a good long time.
depends on if you are looking for cheap baby furniture or quality baby furniture (I’m not sure if by best you mean cheapest)……..Baby furniture is so expensive now…..If you don’t NEED baby furniture right now I would keep your baby in a Pack-N-Play right now and slowly get the stuff instead of going out and buying all the pieces and then needing the sheets and everything right away. Google baby furniture and you’ll find a lot of stuff you can buy online. I don’t know any stores specifically, I’ve always liked BabiesRus. I bought the simplicity set that is now sold at Target but it’s a cheapy wood not REAL wood
If you are looking for quality, Bellini and Pali are my two favorite brands. They are Italian designed and produced in Canada. They are both quite expensive, but you get what you pay for.
If you are skilled at assembling your own furniture, IKEA is an option, but safety is such an important issue here that you should be sure you are assembling properly.
I like Babies R Us, but please no matter where you buy it…have them open the box (b/c most of it you have to put together yourself) to check for any damage. I had to return two cribs that had broken rails, etc. The 3rd time I went I had them open the entire box and we inspected it.

You can buy everything you need in your area. The only thing you shouldn’t buy used is a crib mattress. Buy a new one at Wal-Mart.
Although, Wal-Mart’s baby furniture isn’t that expensive either.
