Speciality stores are best, but if you’re looking for a bargain try Sears or JC Pennys
You are wise to buy before it grows up. Look in the flea markets, they have some of the older, and better made stuff, and more reasonable prices.
I got mine at JC Penney’s. But If you have money to spent Pottery Barn has some nice looking stuff.
If you are looking for a bargain look on ebay. They have alot of new furniture there and you can usually buy a set that includes crib, dresser and changing table. They might also include extras like the crib matress.
craigslist.
babies don’t wear furniture (or clothes) out… they grow out of them. if the parents can keep from having drunken parties and smashing up the crib and other items, you should be able to find some quality items at used price.
Best for what? Style, durability or cost?
We went with best for cost and being neurotic 1st time parents, we NEEDED to have a perfectly matching brand new nursery. Silly in hindsight, but most things are.
So we went with the Storkcraft Aspen crib, changing table & dresser through Walmart online. Target & Babies R’ Us carried the same set, but Walmart was the least expensive. And we got furniture that reflects the price. Crappy all around.
We should have checked consignment shops, newspaper ads, ebay or craigslist. I’ve become a bit crafty since becoming a mommy and I would’ve loved putting my own spin on the baby furniture.
Good Luck with your seach. I hope you are more pleased with whatever furniture you buy.
