For safety, a stabilizing, trapezoidal design side-to-side (14? wide at the bottom, 11? at the seat) is used. Also, the foot pads on the front of the rocker rails keep the rocker from coming forward, even when a toddler climbs up on the seat to sit down. Those pointed tips found on all other rocking chairs are eliminated by connecting the rocker together in the back.
